LAND FOR SALE IN AUBURN, IN
You have found this lot for sale in Auburn, IN, which is in Dekalb County County. The Indiana housing market is tighter in 2022, but whether you are a potential homeowner looking for a lot for sale or a builder or developer seeking homesites and development land for sale for your next project, the perfect property for you may be found in Indiana, the Hoosier State. Indiana resides in the Midwestern and Great Lakes regions of the U.S. Indiana, historically an industrial state, continues to diversify its economy. Indiana has several metropolitan areas with populations over 100,000, supports major sports teams such as the NFL Colts and NBA Indiana Pacers and, of course, is well noted for the Indianapolis 500 race. It is home to top-ranked universities such as Purdue, Indiana and Notre Dame. Topography in the state ranges from the north being flat to rolling hills and sand dunes along Lake Michigan, the south being filled with hilly, rugged terrain and deep valleys. Lake Michigan offers water front as do the Wabash, Ohio, White and Kankakee Rivers and many lakes, providing many options for someone interested in finding waterfront land for sale in Indiana. The state capital and largest city of Indianapolis is found in the center of the state. It is listed as one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the U.S. with a highly ranked downtown replete with retail, hotels, theaters, museums, dining, art galleries, performing arts and sport venues. The city has six official Cultural Districts, five of which are connected by the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, a greenway for pedestrians and bikers. Nearly 200 parks give access to outdoor activities and the Indianapolis Zoo offers learning and entertainment. It is home to Ball State University as well as Butler University and several other institutes of higher learning. The Indianapolis International Airport, Amtrak and Greyhound provide transportation in the area as does a local bus system. The suburbs of Westfield, Noblesville, Brownsburg and Plainfield have been listed among the top 100 places to live by Money Magazine. To the north lie Geist on the city’s Geist Reservoir, Carmel and Zionville. To the east consider Greenfield and to the south, Greenwood. Avon to the west is considered the wealthiest suburb. Forty miles south of Indianapolis is Columbus with a small town feel and noted architecture. West of Columbus is Bloomington the home of the Indiana University and known as the Gateway to Scenic Southern Indiana. The city offers a diverse music scene, performing arts, ethnic dining, a farmers’ market, shopping and many yearly festivals. The B-Line trail uses an old rail line bed to provide a paved place for walking, biking and jogging. In the southwest corner of the state is Evansville, sited on a horseshoe bend of the Ohio River. It has a diverse and stable economy and anchors the Illinois-Indiana-Kentucky Tri-State Area as its cultural, medical and commercial hub. It lies, for the most part, in a shallow valley surrounded by rolling hills. Nearby towns include Washington, Jasper and Bedford which have small town feels within easy commute. Vincennes, on the Wabash River north of Evansville, is a historical town which offers Vincennes University. Following the Wabash River north of Vincennes is Terre Haute. Indiana State University provides educational and cultural venues. Northward, Hammond has recently passed Gary as the largest city on Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore along Lake Michigan. This lakeshore area stretches from Gary to Michigan City. Chicago is only 25 miles away from Gary. The region is served by the South Shore Line running electric rail from Chicago to South Bend and the Gary-Chicago International Airport. Neighboring communities include the larger towns of Portage, Crown Point, Valparaiso and Michigan City. Griffith, Schererville and Merrillville abut Crown Point. Chesterton, Burns Harbor and Porter closer to the lake shore form the Duneland Area. Cedar Lake sits on a lake of the same name and yet is close to Lake Michigan. This region is influenced by proximity to Chicago and the popularity of Lake Michigan as a vacation spot. Further east is South Bend which is famously the home of Notre Dame University. Along with Elkhart and Mishawaka it forms a statistical region in the commonly known Michiana area. If you are seeking land for sale in Indiana, you will find a wide variety of choices from waterfront property, lake property, river land, golf course lots, vacant land, and even cheap land for sale.
