LAND FOR SALE IN NEW ULM, MN
You have found this lot for sale in New Ulm, MN, which is in Brown County County. With its great quality of life, Minnesota is a popular destination for finding land for sale in 2022. Whether you are a potential homeowner looking for a lot for sale or a developer or homebuilder seeking land for sale for your next new home project, the perfect property for you may be found in Minnesota, the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Minnesota is also blessed with 6,564 natural rivers with the mighty Mississippi being the most notable. The plentiful waterways make sports fishing popular as lakes teem with sport fish, while streams offer a variety of trout. Located in the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes Region of the U.S., it is a state of western prairies under agricultural use, southeast deciduous forests cleared for farming, and the less populated North Woods where mining, forestry and tourism coexist. The state is noted for a diverse social and political orientation and considered to have one of the most highly literate populations. The climate is continental with cold winters and hot summers. Fully sixty percent of the state population resides in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area with smaller towns dotting the remainder of the state, known as Greater or Outstate Minnesota. From this expanse the state has created 72 state parks/recreation areas, 58 state forests and numerous wildlife preserves making it a place to enjoy outdoor recreation. The capital of the state is St. Paul in east central Minnesota beside the Mississippi River at the confluence of the Minnesota River. It is the state’s second largest city, and has much to offer both culturally and recreationally. Pig’s Eye Lake, Phelan Lake and Como Lake provide water sports while several parks and miles of paved bike lanes provide recreation. St. Paul Winter Festival and the State Fair also entertain along with an active jazz scene and number of Irish pubs. Though winter is challenging, the city has a covered skyway over 25 city blocks. Paved bike lanes, a light rail and bus system make transportation easier. St. Paul has many suburbs. To the south lie Lilydale, Mendota, Egan and Mendota Heights. To the north are Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Roseville and Maplewood. The city of Minneapolis, Minnesota’s largest city, completes the Twin Cities. Together Minneapolis-St. Paul and its suburbs comprise 17 of the largest 20 population centers in the state. Minneapolis has over 20 lakes and wetlands, waterfalls, the Mississippi River, creeks and streams many of which are connected by parkways in the Chain of Lakes. Minneapolis is noted for having one of the best park systems in the U.S. and is rich in outdoor activities from fishing to biking to skating. Minneapolis also is home to the arts and is second only to New York in live theater per capita. The Minnesota Fringe Festival is the largest non-juried performing arts festival in the U.S. The Walker Art Center is one of many museums to be found downtown. The Minnesota Orchestra serves the Twin Cities. Pro sports are represented by the Minnesota Twins baseball team, Minnesota Vikings football team, Minnesota Timberwolves basketball team and the Minnesota Lynx women’s basketball team. Minneapolis has an 80 block skyway, light rail service, bike paths and is also a very walk-friendly city. The city is home to the University of Minnesota main campus and the U. of M. Medical School. The area is serviced by the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport as well as the St. Paul Downtown Airport. Minneapolis has many suburbs which include Minnetonka, Brooklyn Park, Bloomington (home of the Mall of America), Edina, Eden Prairie, Coon Rapids, Maple Grove and Plymouth. South of the Twin Cities is Rochester, the state’s third largest city, which is noted for being home to the Mayo Clinic and is often mentioned as a “best place to live” in surveys. St. Cloud is in the central region of the state with a small metropolitan area including Waite Park, Sauk Rapids, Sartell and St. Augustine. St. Cloud has 95 parks, bus service and the Northstar Commuter Rail that connects to the Twin Cities. The city also features museums, botanical gardens, several institutions of higher learning, sporting events and a convention center. Moorehead is in the northwest of Minnesota near Fargo ND. This region has some of the richest soil in the country for agriculture. It has five institutions of higher learning, museums, the Hjemkomst Center featuring Norwegian heritage and the Clay Co. museum and Archive with a large historic collection. Hockey is a favorite sport and several local programs exist. Duluth on Lake Superior is the port city for the state. It houses the Great Lakes Aquarium, the only all freshwater aquarium in the U.S. Duluth has numerous parks featuring trails, swimming, hiking, athletic fields and at Fairmount Park, the Lake Superior Zoo. Museums, Minnesota Ballet, the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, Bayfront Blues Festival and the Homegrown Music Festival offer cultural events.
